I’m about to begin the construction of a UH-1C Huey Frog and I use Tamiya acrylics paint exclusively. I was thinking of using the color “Sky” as an interior green. Am I right? What do you suggest?
Green zinc chromate was the only green color used on the Huey’s I worked on, none was in the cabin/cockpit area. Otherwise follow the painting directions supplied it the kit, they are accurate
The instructions do tells to use “interior green” inside the motor area (not in the cabin) but Tamiya doesn’t make any “interior green”. Tamiya “sky” looks pretty close but maybe lighter, I’m just wondering if anybody else have used Tamiya colors for a Huey before?
Spent many years crewing and working on Huey’s green zinc chromoate is the correct color for that area, Tamiya does not make that color, but you could mix
