Interesting stug 3 camo scemes?

Basiscally i would like to do a not usually seen color scheme on a 3G early. Thanks for the help

The 1942/43 time period would be your best time period to research. Are you looking for a short or long barreled version?

You could build it as a Finnish Stug. They had some interesting schemes and you don’t see a whole lot of them in magazines or contests:

Lots of pics and ideas in Squadron/Signal’s Stug III In Action if you can get your hands on a copy.

Concord Publications just released a terrific book on StuGs called “German Sturmartillerie at War” which has a lot of color plates and oodles of photos.

FOr weird paint schemes though, the Finnish one is the way to go.

I noticed that they used a lot of “pimple plate” for the fenders, and I don’t think anybody made the stuff till after the Korean War. Perhaps I’m wrong, but for sure that’s not tread plate like we would normally think of.
