I’m primarily a ship guy, but dabble in 1/72 and 1/144 aircraft to break things up. While trying to finish my latest build, a 1/72 Sopwith Camel, I found myself turning more and more to an unlikely source for some of the itty bitty bits - my 1/700 ship photoetch. A White Ensign Models aircraft detail set has been the source for tie down rings, the pitot tubes, prop for the auxiliary fuel pump and a few other bits. Gold Medal Models yielded an old-fashioned ship’s wheel that, with some trimming, looks great as the gunsight between the twin Vickers MGs. Here are links to the sets:
