Instant messaging

[:D][:D] I know, I know, here we go again with another idea. Dave, could you look into instant messaging on the forum? I have seen it elsewhere, and it would be a good thing. Thanks, and great job!
Lee

That would be great, and you could use an already existing service like AOL IM or .NET messenger to do it (both of which are free for people to download and use). ARC has a chatroom that runs on AOL IM, you get to it by linking to the top of the page. Now now, I’m not trying to promote any particular service or website, just trying to help our fine Administrators find a way to have a chatroom while minimizing the pain on their end!

NOT AOL!!![:(!] .NET, ok Yahoo, ok

MSN or Yahoo would be great!!!1

Woah! Just an example, not even so much as a concrete suggestion [:o)]

Seriously, any of them would be A-OK by me!

Kolja94:
I’ve used aol before, never again. I was very dissatisfied with their service.
I also have enough messenger services already!!

David: I assume we can use the messenger links at the bottom of our posts. Am i correct?

How do I get a free instant mesaging service? I don’t have any extra bucks to spend on it.

Yahoo! Messenger:

ROTFLMAO

Fade to Black…

Why? I’m new to computers and the internet and how you can get things. Can’t help it if I’m a little ignorant. Gotta laugh at myself.

I wonder if you’re thinking of what is referred to as Private Messages?

Claymore-
Amen - I share your experiences and the opinion you’ve drawn from them! I wasn’t talking about the “full-up” ISP, just the instant messaging program which, like Yahoo or MSN, is free to download and use (mine came included with the software for my new ISP). I shudder to think of going back to the darkside, so I wanted to clear things up a bit!

Karl:
Maybe I’ll add AIM then I can have 3 IM services.[:p]
BTW Just looked at your site, nice work.
