Nothing to see here yet but I’d like this thread to have a selection of good photos which anyone can use as inspiration for making dioramas. I’m thinking about interesting, unusual, rare or just plain cool photos, only rule is that they must be of real vehicles not models and post a caption with location/unit details etc. if possible.
Do you guys think this is a good idea?, I’m going to have a look through my library tomorrow and scan a few.
Here are two
Its a bit worrying to see that on the way to Stalingrad !!!
French Panther unit !

Befehlspanther and Panzerbefehlswagen I, Eastern front summer 44
I wonder how those French tankers liked the Panther, It only had one reverse gear. LOL [:D][}:)][;)] Bill
awww, and i decided not to make french jokes. had a decent one too:
“they’re french? the front must be the other way then.” [:)]
Hehe.
Here’s another couple.
Ferdinand 632 of SpA 654 being towed
Ferdinand 712 and 723 (in background) of SpA 654 inspected by Russian officers, Orel offensive.
Looks like the skeleton is saying, ‘HAH HAH you krauts can’t hurt me now’
Interesting perspective on faith.
This has always been one of my personnal favorites. When researching Israeli sniper rifles I found a heading for Ruger 10.22. Of course I had to check that one out!
Seems they use the 10.22s during riot situations to shoot the leaders in the knees to remove the main desenters and help calm the situations faster.
Haven’t worked it into a scene yet though…maybe someday huh?
I have been looking for this vehicle in 1/35 scale for about a year now. So far no luck. It is a Caterpillar D9 modified by the israelis for combat engineer duties They have another version with stand-off RPG defeating armor.
