India Ink

One of the old guys at my local hobby shop uses india ink as a wash to detail his panel lines. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, what kind of results?

I’ve heard of it being used and read articles where they used it but I never have myself. I’ve heard it works as good as any other but I think artist oils are just as good. Sorry I can’t be more help Mer.

i bought a model from mrc of a huey that said to use india ink. but i never got that far to use it cuz my boxer dog decided to be godzilla and ate it

I have tried a lot of different inks. India is good… but it is very black.

I also use a Radidoliner graphics pen. It has a 0.18mm line that is very very fine.

Using a drafting/artist’s dipping pen I have grown to like Private Reserve Gray Flannel ink. It is very dark gray, and leaves a very nice dark, dark gray line. It can be watered down and made lighter as well.

I think the Dark Gray ends up looking more realistic.

thanks for all the help guys!

lol on the dogzilla loco
