For those of you who are considering this kit:

Not too sure myself. Personally, I think Tamiya had better get some ‘bigger’ releases soon.

Pretty cool, but I’ll pass. So much more that they could do. Might be big back home, but doesn’t reach out to a broader audience.

it’s a nice looking model! it isn’t my cup of tea though. i have to agree with tigerman, it might sell in japan, but i don’t think it will go much beyond there. i believe many modellers are looking for something that has a story, or some history behind it. nuf said. semper fi, mike

Looks like a great model and a boon for the APC builders but I, also, prefer the heavies. I’m not gonna say that one won’t show up on the shelf but it will probably be a while.

[#ditto] I had a feeling myself about this. Seems like a very nice and detailed model, but the few friends I know who model have absolutely no interest in this kit. It’s good that Tamiya are releasing Japanese vehicles, but I’m sure that Japan has many more vehicles, ones that are much more interesting than a small AFV.

I like it and will probably buy this kit. It will look good in desert colors and it is something “different”.

Something different indeed. I like it BUT if it is over 25$ I will have to pass.

It looks like a really crisp casting. Probobly will be a very enjoyable build too. Something different for sure.

Ya know, if Tamiya would just go back and re-tool their kits and make some new molds of some of their more popular WW2 subjects, I could live with the limited selection as well as the higher price.

The quality looks pretty good and that says something for the company. Maybe it is a portent of new releases.

Kaleu, if you pick this kit up, you’ll have to do a build up so we can get some real time reviews.

i think there sticking to the theme of whats going on in the world right now. its certainly interesting and something different. i actually wouldnt mind having one, anyone know when it gets released or where you can find one???

It was suppose to be out last week, from my understanding it is to be out in july.

Pretty nice… Still no Land Rover XD Wolf available yet (well, an affordable one that is…). Makes a nice break from the majority of modern traditionals, such as the obligatory M1’s, Challenger’s, Merkva’s, Hummers etc. etc.

That’s definitely true. Since Tamiya is a very well known name, it’s a solid strategy to lure new modelers by following current world events, and tailoring their releases to that. We had the Humvee, the Abrams, now this. Price is kinda too steep for me though, as I don’t have any real interest in this vehicle. But you’re all correct, the level of casting looks absolutely superb. I really like the fact that it has a diecast frame. Should really change the feel of the finished model.

Not really my idea of a model to put in the collection. You guys know what i would like them to make so that kinda says it all.

Keep well.

The probably figured it would sell good because of the troops they sent to Iraq. I will pass on this one.
