In Progress

Here’s some in progress shots of my Italeri 1/9 scale WLA. Being built for a show. More to follow.

I haven’t built anything for competion in about 5 years, (kids and dogs). Feels pretty good to actually get something done!

Way cool. A couple beer bottles on the ground and you’ll really evoke that famous Life photo that inspired THE WILD ONE . Good job.

Nicely done. The model itself is great. The base is very well done and really compliments the scene without stealing anything from the bike. Big scale is difficult because you can’t hide anything. You did a great job.

Mike

Yea- the famous Hollister beer bottle picture. Great idea- not this time, lol

Mike- I’m finding that out about big scale. I didn’t know what the underside of the seat looked like- so I hid it, (mostly), with fringes. Yesterday I used solder to make the throttle cable. I had to glue it to the underside of the upper frame, to give it the right “drape”. I cut a small brass tab, weathered it, and glued it in front of the throttle cable glue mess. People will see the tab- but it looks like it belongs, so it will get glanced over.

You can still hide stuff- just hafta get a little more creative.

Thanks for the comments- Show is tommorow, (what the hell am I doing here?)

Steve

Good luck…let us know how you do.

Welcome, Mig. good work and good luck.

Good Luck!!!

Edit: Finally got the pics to come up…I kept getting the X, but I think it was the computer’s fault (I’m at school)! That is Awesome, I like the weathering a lot!!!

Great idea,very creative.Cheers! John.

Thanks! Finished the thing yesterday at 1pm. Show registration was done at 2, so plenty of time…to shower…pack the thing…buy my wife lunch…drive 30 minutes…plenty of time…

Pretty good show, with some stiff competition.

Steve

damn man, that seriously looks like the front of my hobby shop, except it dosnt say tony’s on the door, where do u live??? Creepy!

Jordan- I just TLAR’ed, (that* looks* about* right) the facade. Sorry ta creep ya out, lol

Steve

Great bike and great base! Some trash and cigaret butts on the sidewalk and the gutter would be a good addition to it. Just a suggestion.
