Thank you all, renarts I didn’t realize that there was fencing outside the runway as I didn’t look as close as I should have. Is there a way to have 1/72 fencing in a diorama like this? At least I got most of it right, I hope.

I was teasing you Richard, but if you wanted to make the fencing for this, hit the craft stores or fabric stores and head for the bridal section. There is a nylon mesh called tulle that works perfect for this apllication. Comes in different mesh sizes and is really cheap. Paints up fine. The minimum you can usually get them to cut for you is 1/4 to 1/3 of a yard which should last forever. I’ve started using this for screening over turrets )i.e the sdkfz 223 & 222) or for engine screenings.
Its killing me and I have to ask…are the aircraft mounted to the backdrop?
Once again, for a first attempt, you’ve done an outstanding job.

One thing you might want to consider though, and I posted this in the Testing Forum, is to convert your graphic to a JPG format. The bmp format is rather large and will kill some of the people trying to look at this pic on dial-up.

[;)] one of my favorite attractions at the USS Intrepid A&S museum is the USS Growler and its regulus missle display! Hmmm… That’s a fury riding chase, isn’t it? Where did you get the kit? [:D]

renarts: the aircraft are held in position with wire attached to the far wings and passing through the sky background. Photographing it so the wire didn’t show was tricky.

I use a program called Irfanview. It’s a great little program for resizing, converting and viewing graphics. It’s price is also fantastic … it’s free. Here’s their link.

In this case, just open your picture in its original format. Click on File, Save-As, and down near the bottom of the window you’ll be given the option of format to save in.
It will definitely save lots of file size. You pic in BMP format is 2.18 mb, converted to JPG it is 79 k.
