I have several micro clamps with plastic jaws - they work, but the jaws are very slippery, and will sometimes slip off the parts being held.
I believe I read somewhere about gluing small pieces of leather to the jaws.
Anyone tried this or have other methods so the clamp doesn’t slip?
I have not tried leather but I know what you mean by slipping. Leather doesn’t seem like it would grab. But what do I know.
I have thought about that “Tool Grip” stuff at lowes. You dip the handels of your tools (like wire plyers) and it coats them in a rubbery kind of stuff. That may work, but I have never tried it.
i super-glued small squares of thin rubber to the plastic jaws -works like a charm.
I have a set of alligator clips that i have been using, I bought about 1 foot of fuel line used on R.C. cars, cut them into 1/4" pieces and slipped one on each side of the clamp, works amazing!
