Imperial Japanese Group Build Part II

Excellent painting on the frank Lawdog [t$t]

Nice Jack Winetanker [Y] seems have a pe-2 near

Just to complete the judy with the base Cliff, the actual finished judy picture you chosen is fine

Asap will put the 108 on the table

Excellent job! [:P]

BSY: Again really nice work on the Judy, and I love the carrier base!

Well I’ve gotten the figures for the mortar cleaned up, primed, the skin tones done, and put down the undercoat for their uniforms. Rainy and overcast here every day so I haven’t had good light for photos. Hopefully we’ll get a little break or I’ll try to get some photos taken anyway and hope they look ok.

Thanks yamato…I think your Judy is better though…

Good eyes!

Yeah, built it a coupla months back. Didn’t turn out too bad considering all the putty I had to use on it,.

what is the badge for this? started JGSDF type 96B 8x8

Waynec: Other than the badge at the top we didn’t get a clear winner in the voting so I’ll put it in as the official badge but anyone is welcome to use the other three as well. I went with two badges- an aircraft and the samurai before so I figured I’d give everyone a choice this time as well.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Started on ‘George’ last weekend and make pretty progress during the week getting ready for painting. I have a few pictures I will attach, a couple of earlier ones and some of the later shots.

Scheme will be Kawanishi Navy Green over NMF, I just haven’t decided which particular aircraft to do.

Anyway, here are a few shots and hopefully I will be painting this week! YAY!!

Regards,

Freddie from LI

Nice work Freddie! Like the seat-belts and the colours of the knobs.

I’m lovin that pit. Nice work on the seat and belts. Whats with the Japs thinking they only need 1 shoulder harness?

I love the Top Badge. That looks great. Zui almost done so Yamato will be on the Slipway soon…Cheers mark

Hey Mark, sounds great, I’m looking forward to that giant Yamato.

I decided this weekend I ended to build something quick, cheap, and dirty so I yanked this egg plane out. Less than a dozen parts, hopefully it will recharge my batteries and get me back up and running.

Looks more like a Raiden than a Zero…

Lol, yes it does at that!

This will be my first group build so I am looking forward to it. I decided on a Tamiya zero unsure of the exact kit but I will keep you posted. So can you count me in.

Hey Astral welcome aboard!!!

This is a pretty informal GB just have fun and post a few photos every now and then!

Putting you down with a Tamiya Zero.

I picked my model up and just completed the cockpit. had some difficulty with the cockpit decals otherwise I think it looks alright.

Looks great! Tamiya most always does such a good job on detail for a moderately priced kit.

And Cliff… Haven’t forgot my commitment to your GB! Its just been a hectic start to the New Year and previous commitments. Both of your Japanese GBs (last years and this one) have and are producing some very nice builds!

Take care…

Doug

Astral: Looks good to me! Maybe you could add a little weathering but it looks fine as is.

Doug: Oh don’t sweat it!

I haven’t gotten much done over the last month, mostly distracted and been working on two P-47s and drug a P-51 I’d started over five years ago and messed up out and have been trying to finish her. I was hoping the two kits I tossed in would be quick simple builds to get me back up and running I still end getting pulled of of them. I did finish the faces of the mortar crew and got most of their uniforms done last night- hopefully I’ll get some photos up this weekend. And that egg plane, only about a dozen pieces but the fit leaves a bit to be desired…

Gamera - I was in on the GB I with my Hyakushiki Shitei III Kai and haven’t finished it yet, it still needs the final blk/Grn painting and finishing touches, etc. I’d like to continue on with this GB if ya’ll are ok with that. Been in a slump the past few months for some reason. Plus personal issues to deal. Also have a N1K1 Kyofu Type 11 floatie I’d also like to enter. Haven’t even painted it or closed it up yet.

All the work being accomplished here is awesome!!

Hey, you’re more than welcome to bring over anything from the first GB, and the Kyofu sounds cool!
