I picked up an old Imai 1/150 Napoleon plastic kit from someone off of Craigslist for $8 a couple of years ago. Yes, it was a steal (unknowingly to me at the time). The box is a little worn and dusty but the pieces are in ammaculate shape and all still attached to the mold sheets. It looks like everything is there and just waiting to be built. The problem is the instruction manual is in Japanese. I think another company re-issued a similar kit after Imai went out of business.
What I’m hoping to find is someone that may have and English version of the instructions that I could borrow/copy/buy to use as a guide or any suggestions to help me out?
The is an awesome looking model of the first French steam Ship of the Line and I think I could probably manage through building it from the pictures, but I really want to be accurate on the colors.
That kit has been on my wish list for decades but I have never been fortunate enough to find it. It was released by Heller as well, and might be re-released by Aoshima. I believe Lee did one as well. I am envious!
ImaNewbie–I sencierly hope that my haveing posted to your thred, dus not cause it to be attacked and or riemoved. I very much hope the picturs I posted help you with your build.
I’ve got the Napoleon kit. Let me check the instructions and if the ones I have are in English, I’ll mail you a copy. PM me with your mailing address. Thanks!
Good to here back from you–ImaNewbie. As I went a bit ferther than an out of box build with mine, I would like to walk you through everything I did–If your intrested, and your not too far along with your build yet. I hope you have not glued the hull together yet, As I cut open all the windows on mine, and cut away all but a shelf whair the cannon tubs are. Please get back to me as soon as you can as to how far along you are with your build—can you post picturs ?
