Just thinking every now and then that I dont have much to give to this forum, for the simple reasons that I don’t have the space or time to build and so on.
For the time being I can only collect some kits, decals, do some research and stuff, not always fun when you can’t build, know what I mean?
So I feel sometimes that I just use you guys for my own good and not giving anything back as in tips, solutions to problems and so on.
I hope that you bear with me until the times comes when I really can participate (right word) fully like all of you already does.
Also would like to take the time to say THANK YOU to ALL of you for all your help, taking your time of your build to answers my questions.
I don’t think that you fully understand what it means to me, you doing that.
It’s you ladies and gents that’s make me want keep going and not dump the whole thing, I really appreciate it.
It’s people like you that makes the modeling bussiness that it is, something that you’re looking forward to do, that’s fun and entertaining.
Just wanted to let you all know.
I’m sure I speak for my collegues when I say that apologies are not warranted in your case. Indeed, I sort of feel sorry for you in that your circumstances don’t allow you to build your collection. I don’t think I could stand staring at a pile of models without tearing in to them. Chin up! some day you can dig into those kits and apply what you’ve learned here.
You are not using anyone of us, you are most welcome to be here anyway. I know exactly how it feels not to have a place to build, and it´s a [censored]. I still don´t have a permanet bench, but now I can use my airbrush atleast. I think most of us think that you don´t have to say you´re sorry.
I agree with all of the above, I too have been in a situation that I could not work on any model, I’m sure the day will come that it will be us looking at your work on this forum.
Don’t dispeire and certainly don’t think that you should leave us. You are more than welcome to keep overwhelming us with your questions, and never forget that you may not be the only one having this or that question.
Indeed it is, Kevan… it’s all about “Keep’n the Faith”!
Jan: No apologies needed… I’ve went through some dry spells, but that only inspired me to greater things once I did start back, and meandering within this Forum makes for some fantastic inspiration! When you do finally get down to it, you’ll be amazed at what you turn out! [:)]
i believe that that is more than sufficient. you are an important member here. as is anyone else. one post or ten thousand. one build or a whole wing. you being here is enough.
Like others have said - certainly no need to apologise.
I’m kindof a hack at modelling and sometimes I don’t always have much to add in order to increase peoples knowledge of modelling or of aircraft. But one way you and I can both contribute is to express appreciation for the incredible amount of work that people put into their builds and the time that they put in to make them visible to the rest of us.
Simply posting comments telling what you like about someone’s build is a great way that anyone can contribute - even if they never glue two pieces of styrene together !
I am in the same situation, I have two small children and work six days a week so my contribution to the forum is limited. Janswede makes a great point, thanks to those of you who invest your valuable time making this site the invaluable tool it is.
Everyone who signs onto this forum contributes in one way or another, some more than others, but that is what makes the world go ‘round. Yes, there is lot of enjoyment in building models. There is also a lot of enjoyment in reading the posts in this forum. If you can contribute something now and then, fine. If not, then please, just enjoy what others have posted. Like bossman said, posting appreciative comments on others’ work inspires them to do even more and better.
We are all very humbled by your apology, but no apology required. The spirit of cameraderie on this forum is second to none and I for one am very happy to be a part of it.
I have to say that what you guys turn in kits here at the FSM forum is some very impressive models of the real thing and I mean VERY impressive models.
Sometimes you wonder if it’s a real aeroplane or a model in the photo, since the hard work that has been put in the model makes it look more or less like the real thing.
Those who write books about modeling about what to do and what not to better watch out I tell you, you folks are really that good.
Since the first time I logged on here, I’ve never ever seen a poor model.
The quality of the work is excellent and the photos are second to none, clear and crisp.
As for you ladies and gents, just taking the time to answer all the questions popping up here, no matter how unimportant or not is very honourable (right word?), and I don’t know, if you know how much appreciated you all are for doing that.
When the day comes when I can sit down and build my models again (the sooner the better), having all of you as models, I can only win!
I can’t wait to get started again and share my first pictures with you!
Thank you again!
All of you have a really nice day and take care.
All the very best to your family and friends.
