IM SO HAPPY

I just got back from Portland, TN. I was in Rivergate,TN which is only 30 minuets away from Portland, to watch Spiderman 2. to kill time i was going to a Books a Million and next door I saw was a Hobby Lobby and across from the mall was a Hobbytown USA HURRAY. For in less than a year ill be living in Portland to goto college and now i have hobby shops within an half hour.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh…the Gods have smiled upon you Gunney!!! Well done!

Bob

nice bit of luck, there! LOL! I wish to good model shops were closer to home…

There are a couple more here. One called Phillips Toy Mart has a decent selection (About 30 minutes from Rivergate). There is also another Hobby Lobby in Murfreesboro and a Hobbytown USA near Franklin. About an hour from Portland though.

Life is good, Gunney - life is good. . .
Paul

LOL!!
Good one, Gunney!! Best of luck!

tis good news. now only if that fool would open his shop near me.

joe

wow thats cool , its a long drive whoever i go to

when i lived in portland before, i would see ads for Phillips Toy Mart and would want to go there but never had the chance.

It’s changed a lot over the years. Their store is composed of two long rooms, and the narrower of the two used to be solid kits. Now they are relegated to a few rows in the back of the store.

I forgot one though, and it’s on that side of town. It’s called Aardvarks Model Trains but they sell a lot of kits to. It’s on Gallatin Road about 5 miles south of Rivergate Mall.

ill be living back in the perfect spot for when it comes to models.

Well, maybe not. The stores mentioned are pretty much all there is around here [:)] I can usually find something to build, but not always what I want. Also, the prices don’t compare to mail order. Phillips and Aardvarks sell pretty much at list price. Hobby Lobby and Hobbytown have some discount, but not a lot.

You lucky boy…

It’s a great feeling when you finally find a LHS in your area!!! I remember it from last year…

I’m so happy for you too. Here, I’ve been wishing that we’ll have big hobby shops like the ones you have there even if it will mean driving for over an hour
