  2. im working on a aircraft too the one i been talkin about up in the aircraft forum part on here and i was tryin to dry brush the cockpit when i get all of the paint off of the paint brush it seems there is more paint left on the brush and i keep getting paint all over i was doin good but today i want back to the dry brushing i end up getting paint all over it and i dont know how the paint got there so…u think its better to not to dry brush the cockpit part b/c i dotn think u can see much of it anyways if i have the window on whatever u wanna call it and if u didnt see my post in the aircraft part here is the aircraft im doin a 1:48 scale messerschmitt Me-109G

You should be able to sand down the hood in some areas to make it fit better. You should also be able to put the hood on and sand it flush with the rest of the body. With a little work you should be able to make it fit very very closely and be smooth and ready to paint.

As far as the drybrushing of the cockpit, you want to get an old round brush and dip it in your color. Then wipe all the paint off, really, all of it. When you think you’re done wiping paint off, wipe some more. Don’t try to get it all done at once, let it take several applications and let the paint build up slowly. With patience you’ll get it done.

for dry-brushing: cut the hairs of an old brush, about halfway, so that the hairs bristle. And make sure that you have very little paint on/in the brush.

here is some pics of the hood what i am talking about, where the hood lay down around the hood u will see like big cracks around it whatever u wanna called it where the hood seems little for the body

That doesn’t look too bad to me really. Remember, there is going to be a gap around a hood in real life also. You might want to look very carefully and see if you can see any areas that are being held up by another piece or a sprue stub or something. Sometimes that can make all the difference as to the fit of two pieces. You might also look for areas that are touching and holding the rest apart, then sand on those areas carefully until you get a better overall fit.
