I'm going to be a tank driver!!

This is probably the wrong forum, but you guys are armor nuts so it might apply. I am re-enlisting in a National Guard Armor brigade, and going to be a tanker! I served from 1986-1994 in the artillery, loved every minute but decided to get out and pursue civilian/family life. I missed the army life badly, and my wife suggested re-enlisting! I was staying away for her, but she’s all for it!!

Hope to get everything ready by mid-summer and off to Knox pretty quick after that!!

Congratulations!

I’m just 16 and like the tought of the army… I know a bit (Not everything, of course) about it as well.

But because of a clubfoot I may not be able to apply. But considering the foot was a degree 3 (The worst) and it is one of the most “perfect” clubfoots today, who knows? But if I get in, I will go airforce. Hopefully pilot in a transporter or such.

Way to go, Sgt. Brown! I have many friends in the Tennessee NG, specifically Troop F 2/278 RCT. They were an armored cav. regiment before being restructured into a regimental combat team for their 1st. Iraq deployment… and they were highly PO’d to have to leave their Abrams and Bradleys for dismounted patrols from Humvees. If you ever run across them, look out for CSM Cartright- he’s a character!

Huxy, good for you and good luck. I’m not able to serve due to neck injuries…like our Sgt. Brown I’d have gone armor as well.

Cool man!!!

“Don’t hit anything!!” as my Mom would say! [(-D]

And make sure you send some photos our way here!

Good luck to you going back in![#toast] Hopefully they wont take away your tanks like they have done with many Guard units in the past few years.[:O]
