Sorry for the long absence fellas. I’ve been working my off on my 1:1 scale 1994 Chevrolet Silverado the last couple of months. Early on it was all in the planning and preparation stages. I wanted to swap my tired old 350 out for a more improved powerplant. The selection…a small block 383 stroker. I wanted to keep the GM throttle body injection setup which meant that I had to do some research. In order to feed all those cubes I was going to need a better fuel delivery , fuel injection and ignition system. I started by replacing the stock fuel pump with a 155 lph unit. The stock 420 cfm throttle body got replaced with a 680 cfm body and I used 454 fuel injectors. The engine has a four barrel carbureted manifold so I had to find an adapter to make everything work. I also had the transmission completely rebuilt and beefed up to take all these upgrades and went with a 2000 rpm stall converter to jazz things up a bit. All in all it’s been alot of fun and I’ve given up all my bench time over it since September. I can say that it’s been a fun venture in the research as well as the work that went into it. I do look forward to joining you guys here shortly.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. Now get your fanny back to the bench and return to being a productive modeler. And let’s not let anything like this happen again. Sheesh.
Thanks for the warm welcome back fellas. I’ve got some catching up to do around here. This time away has been good for me at the bench because I will not be taking on any new projects for a while. I’ve got ALOT of unfinished business from this year that needs to be completed so I’ll be working my way back through all my unfinished projects. Looking forward to re-joining you folks. Merry Christmas you guys.
