What I see of this kit I like. I’m going to try some new or old tricks for me on this build. I still have the dilemma of what livery East German,Cuban and two types of Russian? but that’s down the road. Thanks for stopping by kg4pg.
A friend flew into mainland China and told me the IL-62 he was on souded like the engines were rusted when they started up! He said it was the only airliner he had flown on that scared him!
But the IL-62 looks like a VC-10, and both are aesthetically pleasing designs.

I heard the same thing. I have a freind flew from Cuba to Romania and it shook and rattled whole way! very noisy a real joy of a flight. [+o(]

Lookin’ good! Those bad boys were once the pride of Polish national airlines (LOT). Unfortunately two of them crashed killing everyone onboard - one in 1980, other in 1987. Here’s a photo in the Polish livery:

some more test fitting and clean up fuselage seam. Now ready for prime and seam check.
masked wind shield and white primer check for seams.
painted in standard Ilyushin colors next is the gloss clear coat and some weathering. Still whats in store for me with the decals? I’ll deal with it when I get there.

She’s got a Nice smooth finish! I think that is what worries me most about modeling airliners.

M.M. The top seam I use 000 steal wool been useing it along time. These airliners are a different skill set I like the change.

Yeah, I will build one in a break from everything else. I like the plethora of A.M.decals for them. But If I can show off the office, even better.
T.B. I started the decal process with Funderkals very thin and tricky.
the 1st side was the tial and the red band that goes on in 2 sections.
the left side I applied the windows. Thats one of the tricky parts once its goes on it can only be adjusted for so much then it breaks in to a mess of folded windows.
Airliners you gotta love them.
