IJN Midget Sub Pearl Harbor...rigging....

Rigging. Been asked a million times I know…But i’m a virgin ship builder…I’ve always despised doing models that require antenna wires etc…So I’ve always been a smash, crash, bash armor man…But this kit needs to be built…Fine Molds version Jap midget…1/72…looks a fairly simple kit to build…just one problem…rigging…thinking about drilling tiny holes where the rigging will start and finish and then using fine fishing tackle wire, superglued snugly into these holes…might work…purists might puke when they see it…or should I just bale out and forget the rigging??? I think some types had none…but this would be the cowardly soft option…cheers…

Forget about the purists and just go for it.

Nylon tread or fishing line works fine in that scale for wire.

For mine I drilled small holes with miniature bits and pin vise where the rigging met the superstructure and hull to accept the ends of extremely thinly stretched sprue. Use superglue be cause model glue will melt it. Mine worked out great and I was extremely pleased with the visual improvement over the unrigged sub.
