ooo It’s in 1/72… This might be my first Meng kit.
I can tell you that former FSM senior editor and 1/72 scale USAF fan Paul Boyer is pretty pleased.

Professor, I’m sure you are aware of the old Monogram Deuce that has been upgraded a bit by Encore Models afew years back. And now the braille scale guys get a new 102 for themselves.
I was aware Monogram did one. I didn’t know about the Encore kit though. Will have to look into that.
The Encore kit is the Monogram molds with additional resin parts. There may be some PE in there as well.
Most definately it has PE. A full Eduard cockpit and a lot of other goodies. I have one sitting waiting its turn.
This is so funny to me. I used to be a hard core 1/48 and 1/32 guy; but after seeing some awesome 1/72 builds, I tried it myself. I recently completed the Hasegawa 1/72 F-4J and could not be happier. The best thing is, I have room on my self for several of them. I now have a 1/72 Monogram F-4D almost complete and am equaly pleased. A Fujimi A-7E is well underway as well. My 1/72 stash is starting to get bigger and bigger. At a time when everyone seems to be going big, I am having great fun in 1/72 scale (now where did I put my optivisor…)
Yep. being blind, clumsy is my biggest issue with 72nd. That and the fact that mistakes are not as easy to cover up.
That, to me, is the beauty of 1/72 scale. If the detail is too small to see (or handle), then don’t add the detail. If you must have maximum realistic detail, go for the ever growing number of 1/32 scale kits. If you are more interested in displaying a collection of aircraft designs, or history, or heraldry (such as squadron markings), then 1/72 scale is ideal!
1/72 is a good scale if you are an airframe enthusiast. If you fancy detail in the cockpit, under the wings or in the various holes, then not so much.
A good 1/72 Deuce is a welcome item, as would be a TF-102.
[:D]“Braille Scale”. I like that. You should see my collection of 1/144 kits, you can put a whole air force on your shelf. The BF-109 is the smallest kit I’ve ever built, about 2 1/2" square but it still has the squiggle camouflage on the fuselage sides.
Ok, I have to see pics of a 1/144 109 with the camo!
