Ok I have been working on this Hasegawa 1/48 A6M2 for a little bit now. I have taken things real slow and been trying to make it look decent. This will only be the second model I have ever completed but I am excited about how things are coming out already. But on to my question…
How am I going to pain the metal parts of the canopy glass? They are very thin and I am afraid to try to paint them with a brush for fear I will get the paint on the rest of the glass.
With the Glasshouse on this bird, cover the clear canopy part with Tamiya masking tape [if you have it], with a tooth pic or something similar press the tape edges hard to the frame work. With a fine pencil draw around each frame and with an exacto knife cut the area of tape away from the canopy frame work of the model and you should have only the clear panels covered with tape. This will give you a sraight line to either airbrush or paint over.

Rob,
I appreciate the tip. I need to see if I can get any of this masking tape. So far I have spent around 130 dollars on supplies but I didn’t think about tape lol. Is there somewhere I can get it online? I live out in the middle of nowhere and there aren’t many hobby shops within a couple of hours drive time.
Embark,
Try this for Tamiya tapehttp://www.hobbylinc.com/index.htm
