The 4th of July is upon us!!! This idea is for ADULT modelers. Any young moderlers should ask a adult to help with this. Eye protection would be an excellent procaution for everyone.
Now, instead of using an empty bottle as a launching pad for your bottle rockets-- use your finished AFV. Shorten the sticks to put the exhaust just above the opened hatches and let the exhaust smut the rim. For the entrance hole of an AP round, put the shortened stick through the hole and tie-down the body. When it lights off, the exhaust will scale burn evenly around the hole. [8D][:-,][:-^]
When I say " bottle rockets ", I’m talking about those tinie, tiny, itty, bitty ones. NOT the skyrockets. [:D]

Those tiny bottle rockets don’t burn hot enough or long enough to do any melting. It would get hot enough to imprint its exhaust residue on the surface of the model. Try it out FIRST with a piece of scrap plastic.
We’ve all seen pictures of burned out AFV’s showing smutty, burn patterns on its sides and around the opened hatches. That smoky, smutty burn pattern is the goal of using the little bottle rocket and NOT the larger sky rockets. The look would be more realalistic this way than trying to paint it on. If you’ve ever seen the pattern make on a sidewalk when a firecracker " fizzles " instead of explodes; then you can better visualize it. [:-,]
WHOA!!! I just got back from our local fireworks imporium getting my supply of BR’s and found out that they have a " warhead ". [tdn] Yep!!, the package says, quote, " wiith report ". WITH REPORT?!!! [XX][XX] Isn’t that a cute way to put it? [:O]
Just make extra sure it’s pointed in a safe direction.
Yea, its basically the same explosive power as that of a black cat. As long as you don’t put it down your pants or up your nose, you’re good to go.
