ICM Grosser Kurfurst?

Squadron has it on sale. Any comments on the quality? Anyone here build it? Not that many WW1 ships available so I am sure tempted.

I haven’t built the Grosser Kurfurst but I have built Koenig from ICM. It is an outstanding kit but it doesn’t come with any PE. Fit is great, it is a fun build. PE is available as well from several sources. How much is Squadron selling it for?

Its mostly in german and russian, but i think that should’nt be a problem :-).

$57. Are these PE sets for the GK specifically? Or even WW1 German BBs would be great. Who does the PE sets?

WEM sells a PE set which will fit any of the four models kitted of the class (see the 4 different crowns): Konig, Grosser Kurfurst, Kronprinz, Markgraf

GMM also makes a set for the four kits.

that’s a good price. since i already have one GROSSER KURFURST and one MARKGRAF plus 2 more GROSSER KURFURST i got on sale, probably with squadron, don’t think i will get anymore.

they are nice kits, one piece hull. i have the GMM pe set and it looks nice too.

Hello Don, I am basically a scratchbuilder and have built 200 scale models of Derfflinger, Seydlitz, Tirpitz, Bismarck and others, all RCed.

Is it possible to power ICM’s plastic models of Grosser Kurfuerst or Koenig?I’d be interested in building the GK, but as an operating model, servos, receivers etc are now very small.

You couldn’t use the normal drive train. There are several long shafts and very small props. Modified for a single prop and short shaft it might work okay. You’d need small stuff - 350th is not a very big model.
