I tried to make my own seat belts.

My current project is a P-51A. I intend to close the canopy simply because I don’t to hassle with a vac canopy and don’t care for the six scale inch thick appearance of a cut kit canopy. For this reason I didn’t want to use a good set of Eduard colored belts also. I had a few misc buckles laying around so whipped out the foil and went to work. The buckles are not correct, I know, but let me know what you think. I’m not to sure if I like them or not.

I think they look just fine… canopy open or closed.

Looks pretty good to me.

Looks good, much better than any of my attempts at masking tape or foil belts.

I think your set, only a matter of a little shading and i don’t think you can do much better.

Agreed, just needs a good wash to bring it to life. I use to make them with the buckles too, but it just got to be too much work, so now I settle for the colored PE belts.

Look GREAT to me,

Well Done

Lokks like a winner to me! As said earlier, a touch of wash will really bring them to life!

Looks good to me! I tried to make my own seat belts for my AM Helldiver, man, it’s hard!!!

Thanks guys! I’ll leave them in. And give the whole cockpit taht wash it’s waiting on. Now where can I get “correct” buckles for various aircraft?

Wish i could do that. Oh well, off to buy more PE belts
