Do any of you have the preset handle on your HP-C or HP-CS?
My buddy Chuck has a brand-new one that he doesn’t need and he said he would trade me for my stock Eclipse cutaway handle. It is a $33 handle but I don’t know if I would really use it that much. [%-)]
Of course it would add to the value of the HP-CS in case I want to sell it for a better airbrush. [(-D] [:-,]
hardy…har…har mike…hardy…har…har. i made a home-made preset handle for my hp-c and used for one or 2 sessions and havent used it since. i personally think its a waste of money for a modeller. it too restrictive if you ask me. say you want to clear a clog, you’d have to unscrew to let some slack in the handle, clear the clog, then re-adjust the setting on the preset handle back to where you had it. factory preset handles may operate different from the one i made though. later.
sig, the above person is the one who contacted when i sent an email to iwata. if that doesnt work, go to this page and look about halfway down the page and to the left and you’ll see an icon “submit email”, click on that and you all set. http://www.arttalk.com/iwata/. later.
I thought your report was pretty fair and on par with repsect to the performance of the Badger/ Omni line. No offense taken here…since I bought my Omni 6000 a while back I have to say that having compaired the two models…the Omni was a better buy, hands down. I still love the Iwata brushes, but these days my Omni-6000 has replaced 5 airbrushes and is getting plenty of work; leaving the HP-C for all but the finest detail work.
I agree with you that the Omni is the best airbrush money can buy in it’s price range. The Anthem is also a great buy but it is a siphon-feed model.
The Iwata is a sweet airbrush no doubt but I cannot justify the price as I do not think the differences in it are worth that much more money.
Thanks for the kind words sir. Hey I saw your in-progress photos of your Skyraider…looking good. Please grace us with some pics here of your finished bird. I think it would be a good pictorial example of what the Omni can do!

I use Aztek for some applications and my Iwata for others. Different jobs, different applications, different airbrushes.
One of the reasons that the body of an airbrush is finished so smoothly Mike is that a polished surface cleans easier than a rough surface. That mirror shine that the iwata has will allow you to just wipe, even dried paint, off with your finger or a rag. It does have its aesthetic qualities and is a marketing tool. Look at what Aztek did with its new metal bodied airbrush.
I do understand that a smoother surface is easier to clean, that is if you are not using Acryl. [(-D]
That stuff is hard to wipe clean even on a smooth surface.
The price change is really due to the drop in the dollar recently. US exporters are really happy. All of a sudden they have a price advantage overseas against their European and Japanese competitors without having to skim on margins.
