I took the plunge... My first armor builds.

After a couple years of building aircraft, I’ve decided to take the plunge and build targe… I mean tanks! [:P] I must admit, these Tamiya tanks go together without much fuss and require fewer subassemblies than aircraft. My first was the Tamiya 1/35 Jagdpanther with commander. The second was the Tamiya Tiger I “Initial Production” with commander. I’ve had a great time building these so I’m certain they won’t be my last!

Couple of nice builds tehre. Beforeyou know it, you’ll be throwing mud and dust all over them.

Welcome to the dark side.

I didn’t realize you had such amazing talent with figure painting. The is really, really excellent work!

Welcome to the Dark Side. Now that you have gotten your feet wet, jump in and go to town!

“So, it begins”

You’ve done a great job on these kits. Next time check on the proper color of the inside of the hatch; they are normally painted the same base color as the vehicle exterior and not white. White would give away the camouflage of the vehicle from the air.

I forgot to mention that I love the cat! Where did that come from??

Great work on the armour but your figures are fantastic! [Y]

Bravo, fantastic work especially on the camo

[dto:]

Nobody will ever accuse you of needing help with figures! The camo on the Jagdpanther is REALLY well done. Glad you are enjoying the armor.

Welcome to the WWII armour side…and this is your first build?

fun that you choice the german side(my kind also)

Keep those tanks rolling…

If you want more sprue’s in your box…buy dragon kits

Meng is also coming up with those WWII tanks

And i’m jealous at your figures…amazing faces u have there

Razz out

Very nice. The figures are super! And the calico cat

Oh my gosh, I am so humbled by your kind words! And I really do mean that! I have yet again fallen prey to the allure of armor and bought a third kit that I’m currently working on… the Tamiya 1/35 Panzer III L #35215. I have a halftrack (1/35 AFV Club SdKfz 251/20) in my stash from a GB I was going to participate in last year but it is too intimidating right now! Thank you for the suggestions and tips! I’ll certainly paint the inside cover of the crew hatches the same color as the main body. Regarding the cat, its from a small resin retailer called “Industria Mechanika”. They come 4 to a package and are superbly cast!

Thank you all again for the super kind comments! [B]

Oh cool, will be looking forward to those!

Only complaint is you need to pick up something from the cooler side- the Allies! Like a Sherman, Cromwell, or T-34! [;)]

Ha! I could definitely try that! [;)]

Both kits are looking real good Mopar! I like the little kitty figure and how it ties into the two BIG kitties your built!!

[Y] What else can I add to what was already said? I dig the old school dry brushing technique. The only thing I can see is the white on the inside of the open hatches. Were the 1/1’s white?

Edit: I just read every post above and Rob already mentioned the hatch insides [;)]

Thank you friends! Yeah, I’m definitely going to get those hatches right on the next one!

Ah yes. Everyone needs a Sherman in the collection. At least I’m not the only one truly enthusiastic about you building more armor. Especially since you made absolute gold out of those old Tamiya figures!

oh yeah, your Tamiya figure painting is spectacular!

Excellent work for your first armor builds. That camo is superb. The figures are first rate. You’ll love the Panzer III. I built that one some time ago. Can’t go wrong with newer Tamiya kits.

Don’t be put off by those AFV club kits, they are nice to build. Once you move beyond Tamiya, its a whole other world.
