I think I've gone cross-eyed [1/72 Sd. Kfz 251/10]

well, after enjoying the 1/35 251/22 I did, I wanted to build another. So, I picked up a couple of 1/72 half-tracks at the LHs [they are going out of business, so big discount]. And after building the first one, I’m pretty sure I am cross-eyed now. This is built mostly OOB, although I did add an antenna with a wire wrapped base. The gun shield and a few other items are PE. The kit is Dragon/DML. Very nice kit, although I did not like the tracks. They dont fit the best. also, Dragon molded the four outward facing road wheels [big hub ones] together with a little piece in between. I removed this. This is also the first time I have truely used the FINE tip on my Badger 150. And I am impressed!!! Comments and Critique welcome.

Looks great, I did a similar one of these last year at there small even by 1/72nd standards!

The airbrushing is fantastic, its hard to appreciate from the pics just how fine those lines are.

WOW, man–that’s great! What a cool little build!

I love the paint job–nicely understated camo!

I would recommend however that when you put down your Dark Yellow base coat, cut it about 70% with white–it will look more correct for scale.

Beautiful model though! [tup]

thanks guys. Doog, i hear ya. In fact, Thats probably not even dark yellow anymore. Its cut with about 70% white and a touch of buff. The green got cut with buff and white too. I learned from the last one. This one got a better dot filter [over flat this time, not gloss- Thank you doog.] And I did a lot of rust streaking. The lighting set up for the camera eeps screwing up my pics. Still fiddling with it.

EDIT- Ok, I adjusted some things with the camera and lighting set up. tell me what you guys think of the new pics. also included a new pic of the 251/22 in the new lighting.

MUUUUUCH better now with the lighting adjusted!

Looks fabulous!!!

Thanks Doog. I used your dot filter technique. So double thanks!

Wow, the lighting in the 3rd picture makes it look like a totally different vehicle!

[:-^]

I know, its amazing what a dfference lighting does. Heck, made my Tige Face patton look like an actual kitten.

The difference is actually the lights. They WERE all halogen photo lights. I changed out all the bulbs…for LED.
