P-47D Thunderbolt’s that is [:D]. The Jug has always been one of my favorite WW2 aircraft. Big, rugged, no nonsense, blue collar kinda machine. Designed to wreak havoc & bring destruction & death to the enemy and it did, very well.
This build is a Hasegawa 1/48 Bubbletop. Although surpassed by the new Tamiya kits, it’s still a very nice kit & an easy build. Still have a few in the unbuilt stash, so thought I’d build em & make room for more Tamiyas. This one was mostly OOB, with PE seat belts added & wing gun blast tubes replaced with steel tubing. Aftermarket decals from AeroMaster.
Lawrence, Chris, Thanks for the Feedback & comments. Glad you liked it.
Lawrence, yeah, I guess I pushed the envelope a little with the title, Sorry. But considering it’s an Aircraft Forum thought most would think P-47D first & whatever second. You’re right, that’s a little scary.
duckman, Hector, MikeV, Keyworth, Thanks all for your comments, glad you liked it. I enjoyed building it and it’s nice to have this Forum to share our builds.
Quagmyre, Glad you stopped. Already in trouble with Administration for the Title !
Jeeves, I ran out of Alclad2 so this was painted with ModelMaster Aluminum (non-buffing ), Floquil Old Silver & ModelMaster Steel. The photos don’t show the panel color variation very well, but there are 3 distinct hues when you see the model in person.
