I know this isn't even close to a tank...BUT...

This is an application of a technique I learned here. And I thought putting dirt ON a tank was fun… peeling paint with the hairspray method just makes ya giddy.[:P]

I think I see a winter 1/16 T-34 in my future…

It’s funny that different genres emphasize different specialties. For a/c builders, it’s alignment, great decal work and smooth finishes. For AFV, its detailing and great weathered finishes.

It’s nice to see you taking your weathering skills over to the a/c side. I’m sure fellow a/c modellers will be impressed b/c they don’t see it that often.

That looks awesome. Now how exactly did you do it?

AWESOME! I’m gonna be using a variation of this technique for my “beater” junkyard car in the future!

Thanks guy.

Read about this technique right here in the armor section from the masters themselves. Base camo is enamel paint, let dry 2 light coats of hairspray, let dry… whatever my daughter had in the bathroom…top coat is Tamiya white. Let dry for about 20-30 minutes. Take a stiff(ish) brush, dip in water and start ”brushing” the surface with the water. The paint will start to just flake away. PAT IT DRY with a paper towel or a lot more will peel off.

Hehe Yup I surely did. This is for the Hurricane GB and I was forthright with the group saying that this was to be a test bed for a technique was in …well…er… other facets of modeling. At least I thought I told them…[:-^]

Here’s some quick, primitive inspiration to keep you on the darkside… The image “http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/hells/more2/diablo.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
