Well A while ago I saw a 1/35 model of some sort of Soviet gun truck/ anti air truck or something. It was from around the 1970’s-1980’s era I think. The backround was snowy…thats about all I remember, i know that probably not enoughto identify it by, but I would love to find it if anyone has ideas. Thanks!
This sounds like the GAZ-66 truck with the Soviet AA gun (ZU-23) mounted in the bed. It is shown in desert markings on the boxart. Perhaps that is why you think it was in a snowy background.

I know that alanger and some other eastern companies also have a slew of GAZ-66 varients-so check those out, it might be similar to the eastern express one.
Thanks but I did some more research but I guess it was the Skif BTR 152E anti aircraft version, sooo it wasn’t a guntruck, but an apc. I dont know where I got the snow backround idea though. Anyone know how this kit is, or andy cheap sources i could find it at?
This site lists it: http://www.discountmodels.com/skif.htm as does this site: http://www.hobbyterra.com/product.asp?idProduct=956
All I did was type “skif btr” in Google.
Amazing how far you can get with a little bit of research. [V]
Sorry…but when I asked the question rob was responding to I asked “does anyone know how this kit is or any cheap sources for it?” I was mainly looknig for reviews on whether the kit is decent or not, and added the other part just to see if anyone had ideas of where to buy it, not because I was lazy and didnt want to search myself. Not trying to argue, I know you were just responding to the point many people find it easier to post a question than spend 5 minutes looking it up themselves.
Just ignor the “uneeded” comments…he’s just trying to get a rise out of ya!
Thanks, a lot of people seem to get really mad and defemsive when someone like Gino makes a comment that they take as offensive. He’s entitled to his own opinion so I don’t let it bother me. I know he’s got a point.
Wow Gino! You have a pretty good reputation down here.[swg]

I must admit, the vast amount of information he seems to have about most modern AFV subjects is incredible to say the least. He never misses anything either when It comes to pointing out corrections on other peoples builds.
oh, RIGHT! THAT one, you know, with the THING and all that stuff all over it! [:)]

Haha, yeah I knwe it was really vague but Ive been looking for it for a while, and figured maybe someone would have a pointer to get me in the right direction.
…maybe it’s a function of all that time on his hands being an artilleryman on an Air Force base?
LOL!
I’m also impressed with the knowledge base exhibited.
Oh, and also, do you guys remember a kit, it had kind of like a cardboard box sort of thing with a picture of maybe a painting or a photograph on it, inside there were a lot of plastic pieces and when you got them all together with glue or bubble gum or what not, it was supposed to look like something, oh, I dunno, like a thingy with wheels and tracks and stuff and it was supposed to be like made out of metal with these little guns and guys and boxes and tools? I think I remember it had some paper with it with a lot of words and some pictures like the pieces that were in the box? Could have been released, I dunno, between, maybe, 1947 and 2007? Colored some color, I forget now, but it was supposed to be like historical or something?
Oh, wait, never mind, I Googled it…
