I have gone from Hasegawa's biggest fan, to very grumpy with them!

Well not really… But I am in the process of doing their upscale version of the F-15J… Everything was going wonderfully, great little cockpit, parts fitting well. And then came the time to put the seprerate cockpit and nose section together with the fuselage… I bent, I twisted, I cut, I hit, I banged…I swore… But that sucker simply would not fit in well at all… I finally got it to go together as best as I could, but still needed an awfull lot of putty at the bottom of the join in order to cover the gaps…

I did the other version of the F-15J, and it was just two body halves, top and bottom, and you put them together… Never had a problem, and no seems… This better version, has given me nothing but nightmares… I know Duke Maddog has built this version, so am interested in how it went together for him… I will do my best to cover the problems with it. But as an all out Hasegawa fan. This kit has the worste fitting neck and cockpit section that I have seen on an aircraft… And I thought doing Italeri’s F-111 kit was horrible…

I had a similar problem with the Hasegawa 1/72 F-14, but once overcome it looked pretty good.

Thanks Rick… Well a few hours since I posted this… I have done an awfull lot of sanding and trimming… And well, I have brought her back to life… The only problem is, that the neck is a few degree’s up as I would like… I like my F-15 noses to point down a good notch, but it isnt noticable so far… Anyways, will keepyou posted after the first prime coat goes on, then I should have some idea od how she will come out…

Good luck with your surgery project.
