Any advice that might help me? Please, I’m having a lot of trouble here. light grey plastic. should i prime it or anything? Thanks.
Prime it with a white Primer like Mr. Base White and leave it at that. [;)]
[#ditto] - Although I usually use Tamiya Fine Surface Primer.
Ok that’s what I’ll do from now on. I hate it so much though… but nothing will stop me from plowing full speed ahead through my build!!!
that what you got to do sometimes just go for it , painting with white paint does suck
Not do i hate hand brushing, but airbrushing as well when it come to white and yellow paint.
I don’t bother brush painting white, unless it’s small details, for that exact reason: coverage. I airbrush everything I need to paint white…it’s the only way I’ve found to get adequate coverage. You can also try rattlecans if you don’t have an a/b. Beats the alternative. [:D]
No no. I have an airbrush. A badger 155. ok, i’ll airbrush the rest of my parts white. that should be much better.
I’e had very good luck brush painting light colors (whites, greys, greens, blues etc) by thinning them with laquer thinner. I usually brush MM and Humbrol enamels and the laquer thinner seems to make the paints flow together better behind the brush than enamels thinned with enamel reducer. When I open a new bottle of paint that I am going to brush on, I add three or four drops of laquer thinner and that seems to work very well.
Without an airbrush, the insufficient coverage of white paint will forever haunt me…
