I GOT THE TRUMPETER LEOPOLD!

Man…this baby is huge. Just got it as a christmas gift from my wife. You guys should get it. Finescale’s January review on both the Trump and Dragon kit will work well with this project.

On the painting side, do you really think that the Model Master set of paints recommended by the FSM Review author is much better than other paints like Tamiya? Feed me here guys…

Thanks!

Noel [:D]

You are one lucky guy pare. But do you have a space for that thing? I saw it and it is huge. Anyway, good luck on the build. Hope to see some pics of it when you’re done.

Enjoy yourself with this big beast Noel.

As far as paint goes … use what you are most comfortable with !! If I was building it, I’d use Tamiya.

Enjoy that monster Noel. My wife would flip out if she saw that come through the door. All ready hear all about how I don’t even have room for another tank. Keep us posted on the build.

Use what ever you have. Saw it painted with Tamiya paints and it looks as good as the one I saw painted with Vallejo.

I’m really lucky!

My wife bought the Dragon Leopold for me for my last birthday!

[:D] I built a shelf that will house my ships. Each shelf can contain a 4 feet tall and 1.5 feet wide ship. Yes, like most of you guys, my display shelf is almost full. I guess that 1/200 Shinano will have to go. Hehehe. I gotta have my hands on this beast. Though the USS Hornet and the HMS King George V is still in process. [V]

Then I ain’t just the lucky one after all!

I mean a 4 feet long and 1.5 feet wide shelf. So don’t assume I’m building 1:2 scale figures ok. [:o)]

Wheew. You got the space and the budget, too. Very lucky indeed.

Lucky guy. I have used alot of Model Master paints and like them very much. I haven’t used too much of Tamiya, but will be doing so on my Panther.

Nah! I had to take a loan. It was part of the renovations I had to undertake on my house. We are all tight here…no lose change. [:I]

Man oh man are you gonna enjoy yourself! I have the Trumpeter kit and the DML kit both built and they look great sitting next to each other. (They just fit on my dining room table!) At the moment they are residing at Stevens International in their display cabinet in the store. Will post pics soon!

Alright Noel!

Make sure when you start that baby, to keep us posted!

PS…I would go with the Tamiya Acrylics, myself.

Mark,

So you got both kits. Now tell me who is luckier! [:p]

Grat! I will wait for your post.

Noel -
You are the luckier modeler - you still get to build that baby!!!
have fun!
Mark

Enjoy!

They make impressive display pieces.

I’d love to buy one of those things, but I just can’t. Years ago I bought the 1/35th scale St. Chamond railroad gun kit, the French kit, and I’v enever built it up. It has tons of photoetch. Big parts of the kit itself are made of etch pieces. I just can’t see myself having not one but TWO railroad guns in my house! Although I’d probably build the styrene Trumpeter kit before I’d build the sytrene resin and etch kit.

Sounds to me like the Trumpeter is the way to go for detail, while the Dragon appears to be an easier build and a better fit.

…i read that story today…32"'s long…jeffl
