HMMMM . Where do I start ? I mentioned in the ships thread about recycling old models. Now it looks like I can expand on it . Can I ? Good , I will . Did you know that you can recycle battleships to liners and aircraft carriers to different types of tankers or dry cargo ships ?
I even , one time , turned a destroyer into a very fancy motoryacht . This of course was BEFORE prices got so high that it looked like you,d need a loan to buy a model ! I believe in creating WHAT - IF,S from severely damaged (not salvageable as their original intent ) ships of all types. Why, years ago someone gave me a boat .
When i got my prize home , I discovered it was just like the "NATCHEZ " model I had just painstakingly (my granpa gave it to me ) finished ,being very careful ,and following the instructions to the letter . I then saw a picture of a NEW YORK harbor ferry . Of course , looking at my new prize I thought "I can do that ! "
Well,to make a long story short. That was back when you could get plastic "hot wheels " sized cars in a bag. Fifty for a buck ! They fit nicely on it . It looked great until I tried sailing it at the beach in LAKE WORTH ,FLORIDA !
Whatta disaster ! I only lost two cars though ! Does anyone remember playing with rebuilt models like that ? Stockponds and tanks count here too . How many have done the rebuild using business cards and cardboard shirt inserts ? I gotta let you think about that . - - catchya later - -tankerbuilder
