[D)]Some of you may remember me and pics of my completed Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire and how she was a little rough around the edges, even for just a second build (especially decal silvering). But what I later realized was that I sabotaged myself by being in a hurry to finish the aircraft in order to start on the diorama that I wish to include it in. I was so excited to put some figures with the plane, the way I had always pictured them in my mind. Once I did that, it hit me…it’s the diorama that I build for.
Now that I realize that each craft is an integral part of the larger diorama, I have learned to take my time and build each kit the best way I know how. I guess from hear on you will see me more in the diorama section, but here are some pics to show you an idea of where the Spitfire is headed…

AN IMPORTANT MISSION CALLS FOR BOTH FLIGHT LIEUTENANT AND SQUADRON LEADER TO PREP THE PILOT.(of course the Squadron Leader is smoking at the open cockpit, who’s gonna tell him not to?)

THE PILOT FIGURE CAME WITH HIS OXYGEN MASK ON BUT NO HOSE, SO I ADDED THE HANGING OXYGEN HOSE TO TRY MY HAND AT SCRATCHBUILT ADD-ONS.

I just love the Life, Action and Character that the figures bring to the craft. I’m not necessarily going for 100% authenticity, but more for capturing a certain moment and spirit of how I can only imagine them to have been. This is the joy, excitement and satisfaction that I truly take away from my craft.
Thanks for listening, and keep building!!!
