I dont feel tardy (pics)

Well, this was supposed to be my entry to the P-47 GB, but since Im long over due Ill post here. This build represents a few firsts for me. Namely my first kit bash and first freehand camo. Both of these techniques will require much more practice. I first saw “Category E” in Squadrons P-47 In Action and had to have this void filled in the display case. Not having done a kit bash before I was afraid that I would research the subject to death and not build it, so I dived in head first. The kits were RM’s offering as I couldnt destroy 2 Tamigawas in case I wasnt able to complete the project. Which meant more pratice on filling as the drop tank mounts were moulded in and Category E had them removed. I used Tamiya paint throughout the little wash that I did was enamel and Aeromaster provided the decals, although no stencils were included.

Gah I forgot to put on the antenae mast.

Very nice job…looks great. And the choice of backgrounds shows just how effective camouflage can be.[;)]

Oh and by the way… Thanks… now I have that song stuck in my head…

Got it bad, got it bad, got it bad…[:-^]

Nice job! I love the markings. Congrats on a great build.

looks good from here , nice job

Good looking plane! I sat there for several minutes looking at it thinking something wasn’t quite right, but couldn’t put my finger on it. Then I realized it was a two seat conversion! Great job!

Better late than never [:)]. Nice work on the conversion.

Regards, Rick

Thx, for the kind words guys.

Awesome job on the camo, very well done.

OUTSTANDING !

Looks great! [8D] [tup] [tup]

p.s. Is the subject line a reference to Van Halen’s “Hot for Teacher”? [8D] [:P]

Thx guys, Espins its from Hot For Teacher, I used it in the subject line because Im oh say about 4 or 5 months late on the P-47 GB that entered.

Took me 20 minutes to find the plane.

Stupid camo.

(nice job!)

I couldnt find the “FSM Approved blue” cardboard that I normally use and had to settle on using the table cloth on our dining room table as the back ground. The dining room table doubles as the studio so I guess Ill have the wife pickout a new table cloth next time we are shopping!

Very well done, especially for your first freehand camo!
