I do believe I scored big time on eBay...

Just paid for 7 1/48th scale Accurate Miniatures kits on eBay.

2x Avengers

3x Dauntless

1x Mustang

1x Fw190

All for $71 shipping included.

Ok there is one catch. No decals, but that is not a big deal.

I think I got a steal.[hbday]

Whoopeeee![blns]

Now I’ll just have to explain to the wife about this charge on my PayPal.

Congratulations on a purchase well done. Great pick up!

10 bucks a pop aint bad at all!

The Avenger kit is great…done 2…2 stashed.

Dauntless is also very good (PE flaps help)…done 1…2 stashed.

P-51, also quite good…done 4 B/C’s, 2 A’s and the A-36.

190…I dunno!

Another great one from AccuMini is the Vindicator.

The AM Avenger is consider by some to be the best injection-molded kit in quarter scale…I didn’t know they did a 190???

I believe the 190 is an Eduard that got reboxed by Accurate Miniatures. I have built 3 if their Mustangs The Mk.Ia the A and the F-6B. Great kits

Building the Vindicator now. Nice kit but the instructions are horrible.

Nice score. Their Dauntless is a great kit. I miss them.

.

I’ll say! Just the two Avengers alone are probably worth what you paid for the whole shebang…

And there’s lots of aftermarket decals out there for these aircraft.

WOW !! I have most of those in my stash and I know I paid far more than $71 for them. Great find, and decals are an easy fix.

Wow!!! Whadda deal!! The Eduard 190’s are actually the AM molds. I was wanting an Accurate Miniatures 190 for the longest time until I realized I had one in Royal Class form. [:O]

I just bought a couple things from that guy. There have been several sellers in Kentucky getting no decals AM kits at auction! You can sometimes find the decals on eBay separately. Sprue Brothers has some Mustang, Avenger, and Stormovik decal sheets for $0.99!

Let me know if the P-51A has the correct nose on it, with the wide intake. I tried asking him a couple times and he would never address the question. The P-51As he’s selling have the camera parts so I’m worried they’re actually the sprues from the defective F-6B kit.

Sounds like a great score, AM kits are the bomb.

The Mustang I bought is the F-6A. But I’ll look when I get them

No problem! There shouldn’t be any issue with the F-6A. Sprue Brothers has decals for the P-51 kit # 3400 if you need any. There are lots of other aftermarket decal options, but the decal for the instrument panel is nice! When I build those kits I dip the panel in Future floor wax like I do with canopies, then apply the decal face down to the back. I add a little white glue to the decal water so it sticks better. Then I mask the dials with little globs of white glue and airbrush the panel. The white glue pops right off with a toothpick and you can drybrush the raised detail if desired. I’ve done the Dauntless panel the same way.

You sure did. AM kits (many still out there via Academy and - I think - Italeri) are all very classy builds - ahead of their time. I’ve got the SBD, TBM and P51A (as well as the last Grumman biplane USN fighter - F3A?) and they are all top notch. Also have their 1/48 B-25 which will be a major project some day real soon. (Outside of a ATM Havoc, it will be my last 1/48 scale bomber. Space is a big deal for me, so 1/72 will help out. Some really sweet multi-engined planes in that scale in the last few years. BTW: if any have cockpit masks, use them - the one’s I’ve seen look simple but are nicely cut.)
