I am wanting to order all the paints I will need to paint my Bizmarck model that I am starting and was wondering if someone could help me by listing the colors I should order and by what company I do not own an airbrush so I will have to rattle can as often as possible. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me on this.
HI, I am almost finished building my Tamiya Bismarck. What one are you starting and in which size?
Search Bismarck in google a few websites have a list of line drawings with the colors used. Bismarck had a few schemes. you should still be able to use cans, especially the larger areas such as the red hull etc but it will make it pretty hard to do some of the stuff with out at least paint brushing it.
Thanks for all your responses so far. Well life got in the way of my build but I am up and running on it this time. I am building the Tamiya 1/350 Bismarck. I want to do it in the March 1941 scheme. I am also going to add the WEM PE set as well. I am aware that I need gray, flat white, flat black, etc. I prefer to paint in acrylics only. If anyone has the time to point me to specific brand part numbers (of paints,) I would certainly appreciate it. I have seen all the awesome pictures of the real ship and have also enjoyed looking at models that I only wish I had the skill to put together as well. Should I just look at the photos of the finished models and try to match that to the best of my ability or are there specific paints that are more exactly like what I should use?
Thanks Kellau, I have enjoyed poking around that site. I think I am going to do my own mix and shoot it to please my eye. I was hoping to get it historically painted correctly. Thanks for everyones input/
