I am having a fantastic time

[:D]
This is silly but I feel like a kid again, I am having a fantastic time building this 1/35 early Tiger I kit. I can’t wait to get home after work and get stuck in. I am even enjoying my first attemp at PE. Although I am dreading a little when the tim e for paint arrives[:D]

Good to hear John!!! I know what you mean. Sometimes my wife even gets to see me for 10 minutes each night (when I stop for dinner!). Sort of pretty easy to lose yourself and all track of time once the comforting smells of CA glue and acrylic hits the nostrils!.

Welcome back to childhood (I think I am currently going through my eighth or ninth childhood.)

Bob

I know how you feel I just finished a late model tiger and I will probably get another one.

Me too…and I dont usually build tanks but this Tiger I has something about it don’t it. I am dreading finishing my wash and paint too, because I know when I do i will be done with this one… but I have 2 other group builds going too so all isnt lost [;)]

That’s really good to hear. Nothing like getting inspired about something.

Can’t agree about CA fumes, nothing else bothers me, but when i get a decent whiff of CA, my eyes hurt. No pain no gain!

Isn’t it great? I loved building as a kid, but not like this. I wait all week for the few hours I can manage on Sat. or Sun. I find myself smiling at the prospect of weekend rain.

How 'bout some pics. I’d like to see and hear what someone else thinks of the 1/35 RC. No one else has built it in my time here.

[#ditto]I love weekends for the same resons I like rain snow wind anything to keep me inside so I can just build.Life is good !!!

That’s what it’s all about! Glad to hear you are enjoying it!!

John,

I hear you. I took a hiatus from model building for over 10 years, and now that it’s just me again… I’m really enjoying it. Having the Internet to look up limitless reference photos now is so much better than having the two or three books you could find in the LHS or the library. Ain’t technology great!!

Here Here…![tup] Glad your having fun… what would be the point otherwise… Lets see some pics of that kitty soon…

Good deal. Actually I think that I am enjoying it more now than when I was a kid. Back then i would loose patience and just slap it together forgetting about how I wanted it to look good. Then again I think I still am like that.

i can say ditto to all the comments. i enjoy everthing about this hobby now that i have the experience to work from. to see a kit turn into a build is a great feeling. i can say also that my wife sees me a great deal throughout the day. the work area is the computer desk in the livingroom. she sees me all day long.

Mark,

That is the exact kit that got me back into modeling. I built it up OTB about two years ago and now have over $15,000 invested in a new hobby room, tools, paints, and over 200 unbuilt kits. You’d better watch out or the fun will grab you as hard as it did for me.

Enjoy,

Ya know John, it sounds like you are perfectly normal!!. glad to hear you are going through the great feelings this hobby has a tendency to bestow on us. you’ll also find this forum can light a fire under you to. it’s been really good for me personnally. keep having a good time. semper fi, mike

I echo everyones comments. I enjoy it differently then when I was a kid. Now it’s more about attention to detail and references, back as a child it was a “build it fast to play with it attitude”. Have to admit I got a lot more kits built back then. [V]

John that feeling is what its all about. As far as dreading the painting part goes, Well with all the technical expertise we have here in this forum there shouldn’t be any problem that you cant over come. Glad to know things are going well.

Got to agree with all the comments above, thats whats modelling all about enjoying yourself and if people think that you are going through a second childhood who cares.
