Hurricane Mk1 Nightfighter

This has been my contribution to the Battle of Britain GB, and represents WCmdr Ian Gleed’s Hurricane which he flew during the battle.

The kit is the Hasagawa offering, with ailerons, elevators, rudder, wheel well and cockopit seat and armour all from Ultracast. The canopy is a Squadron vacform and thwheels are from True details. The markings are a combination of kit, and Aeromaster decals, with the nose flash painted in.

Paints are Gunze throughout.

Hope you like, I know I enjoyed building it.

Karl

Looks nice. The night fighter paint scheme certainly makes for an unusual Hurricane.

I said it in the BoB GB, very nice, I really like the pre-shading effect. Hope to see more of your builds Karl![:)]

Thats a beauty Karl great use of that RLM 66 (heheh  )

nice looking hurri, dont know why ya bought a kit with all that extra resin… shoulda broke out the vaccum-former

Jeff

Very nice…

Karl,

That truly looks like a stunning model, very very nice work.

Just for shorts and giggles, try photographing the plane in the shade. The harsh sunlight has created some undesireable shadows and hides your excellent work. Give it a go and see what develops. Again, that looks like a very nice model!

Jerry

Looks great Karl. Nice work… Slow, but nice [:D].

Regards, Rick

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Jerry I know what you mean about the photos, but how often do we get sun like that in the UK. Be a shame to waste it!

Jay I look forward to seeing more of yours too. Are you joining the North Africa GB?

Rick If you think this was slow, the MS406 for the NAGB will be even slower. I just finished the primer coat…

Jeff I was helping support the Canadian economy! As for the 66, I got the idea off an article on Snypersnail.

Thanks again guys.

Karl

Karl - I said it in the GB as well … but nice build! Your choice of paints for the nightfighter has me dabbling in different colors now and then for a possible night fighter later…

Looks good and looking forward to more from ya!!

Very nice build.

Karl,
Very nice work on your Hurricane!

What ever happened to the 1/72 scale Ta 183?
If you posted pics of it I must have missed it.

Matrixone

excellent work.

joe

Lovely NF Hurricane LK-A!!! One of my favorite aircraft! Thanks for sharing your work with us here!

Just a question - is it in 1/32 or 1/48? It looks like 1/32 but can’t be sure from those pics - there’s nothing to compare with.

Additional info on W/Cdr Ian R. Gleed can be found at: http://www.making-history.ca/features/british/tc-gleed/default.htm (containing also other models of planes he flew)

Cheers,
Pisis

great job, thanks for sharing.

Now, lets see that 406 eh[tup]

Beautiful!!!

Guys, thanks for all the kind feedback.

Matrixone You haven’t missed it, I just haven’t round to finishing yet! I know slow!!! I’m still working on the Ju287 as well.

Pisis It’s 1/48 , my garden isn’t that big!

Jules The 406 is parked while I unwind by working on the 109D. I’ll update the NAGB shortly.

Again thanks for all the kind words.
