I recently (today) have aquirred a large number of 1/72 scale IMEX/Accurate Hundred Years War Knights, Men-at-Arms, & such. I would like to paint them as historically accurate as possible. Does anyone know of any good reference materials that would be helpful & historically correct? Thanks!
If you can find it, look also for the book published by Wargames Research Group called Armies of the Middle Ages, Volume 1. Author and illustrator is Ian Heath. No color illustrations, but it has an extensive heraldry section in the back, and extensive line illustrations to show you which kinds of armour knights and foot soldiers wore in different periods of history. Good luck.
No problem. They are fun models, and it is an incredibly fascinating period in history – extremely complicated and rich. You could spend your whole life studying the Hundred Years War era in Europe and never learn everything!
