In step 12 assembly b shows a box of some sort that goes between the rear seats. I have this part in a Legend’s interior update set. What is it? And would it be appropriate in a special forces “dumvee?”

What did they say it was? I do not recall having anything there on any HMMWVs that I drove or rode in. Looks like some kind of storage rack or box.
An evaporator for the air conditioning system. I saw an M1114 at a regional fsir today and the box was present but the Nstional Guard trooperwith it didn’t know what it was and thought I was refeting to the gunner’s stand which wss folded on to it.
The best color for the item in 12b is Model Master Euro Gray I, it is the closest ‘out of the bottle’ match for most interior colors for HMMWVs. The item in 12a is the gunner’s foot rest. It’s made out of stamped aluminum and is a semi-metallic yellow green (think june bug green) with aluminum showing through the paint in wear areas. The Euro Gray I color would be appropriate for both ‘regular’ army and SF humvees. The SF vehicles would possibly have a different radio configuration; check your references if building a specific vehicle…
I was a gunner on a 1114, and I don’t recall that being in any of the trucks I was on. Our trucks weren’t open-back like the one in the diagram though, and I think the evaporators were behind the seats. My unit also did FOB security for an SF base, so I got a little, VERY little, peek at how they do stuff. The SF trucks were all pretty stripped down. They believed in speed over armor, and liked to free up space for extra ammo. They had a truck with a minigun on it. We got to fire it at the range one day. It was a blast! If I remember right, the ROF was like 3,000/min. Sounded like a buzz saw
I just noticed it looks like it has a BFT. That’s pretty wild. I don’t know if the SF ones would have that. I kinda don’t think they did, but I could be wrong on that. Their radio config would probably be pretty simple. They’d probably just have comms for their own net, and then whatever team comms they used
