Hummer's pulling capabilities?

Can it tow a container? Any pics of it pulling something with a large capacrty?

There is a version of the HMMWV called the M1097 that is the prime mover (Army talk for vehicle that pulls something) for the 105mm towed howitzer (either the M102 or M119). The M1097 has a capacity of 4400 lbs. They are normally found in the artillery battalions of light infantry divisions.

There is another version called the M1037 and M1042 (w/winch). This is used to carry the S250 shelter. This is a large box like structure that normally contains either an electronic shop, commo equipment or some other type of mobile repair facility.

It does not have the same cargo pulling capabilty as the M1097, but has a beefed up suspension to handle the added weight of the S250 shelter.

Thanks for the info.

The S-250 and the RWS are mounted on 1097s. We mount the shelter on the vehicle and still pull or generator, cargo and radar trailers.
Newer shelters, like the new TOC vehicles (also RWS or rigid walled shelter), are on M1113s.

If you guys have any photos of hummers pulling anything with a container please post it here. Thanks

If you mean pulling a conex or an ISU -90, I havent seen any. If you do a google search for AN/TPQ-36 Radar, you’ll find pictures of them towing radars, generator trailers, cargo trailers, and there are shelters on the HMMWVs.
