Well, others may have some critique but I have to say that they look pretty damn good to me. I like the IJA 28cm Howitzer (other thread) as well.
These are better than usual. AA is stepping up his builds a bit. A couple issues I do see though.
The first one is the prototype Red-T HMMWV. It never made it past the test phase. By the way, its not a Hummer (that is something you get from your girlfriend). It is a HMMWV (High Mobility Mutipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), pronounced Humm-Vee.
On the M38A1C, the decals are silvered in many areas and hanging over the bumperette on the left rear. Also, the rear lights are off. Only the upper left oval should be red. The others are just slits and part of the blackout drive system. They are best represented with thin black lines. You can see below how it should look.
To add to Gino’s items, the ammunition tubes are normally black or dark brown…99% of the time they are black…not OD

I check the instruction sheets to see what color it suggests for the tubes. It says C-38 (80%) + C-33 (20%). C-38 is Oilve Drab and C-33 is Flat Black. So I think it’s more OD than B by 4:1

Well for the Humvee, I have a paper model in 1:25 of the same vehicle. On the model shown in this thread, the poor jerry cans struck me, and also the left antenna mount - I think there’s a little bit of seam left there. And dhe window glass has some strange effect on the edges, maybe AI used a bit too much glue?
As with the M38A1, I’m especially glad to see it here, because I’m going to build it some day, and the remark about the ammo tubes is valuable to me. I’d like to point the star on the hood out for my coleagues. For what I know, from the fifties on the regulations have the star on top surfaces point toward the front of the vehicle, whereas the model has it pointing toward the rear. This mistake can be seen all to often, even on restored 1:1 vehicles, so I think it’s worth talking about it. Please check this link to confirm it:

Here we go again…“all is possible, it could be, blah, blah, blah…”
Just because the directions say to paint it a certain color doesn’t mean the model company got it right. Most of the time they are wrong. As they are in this case. The ammo storage and shipping tube is made out of cardboard coated with a fire resistant tar-like substance. This gives a very dark brown or black color. They are often called “tootsie rolls” (like the candy) since that is what they look like. You can see it in my above pic and in the below pics.
They are the same as used for 105mm howitzer ammo tubes. You can see one over the guy’s shoulder in the center of this pic with the cap removed showing the bare cardboard.
Every once in a while you should listen to some of us who have first-hand knowledge of these things instead of dismissing us so quickly. You may actually learn something.
You are correct Pawel. We missed the backward star on the hood.
Thanks, Pawel, for dropping by giving some comments. You’re right about the shortcomings, I’ll tell AI to use less glue the next time. 1:25 paper model would about the same size with Wiilys Jeep 1:24 from Italeri.
Notwithstanding the technical bulletin, I knew long before that the star on the hood should be pointing forward. I look up the instruction sheets and I can’t blame AI because it suggests pointing backward! AI has done correctly according to the manual. AFV Club probably took the said restored 1:1 vehicles as references. Think of this model as a replica of such restored vehicles…
