I have the Tamiya Marder IIIM but I haven’t built it yet. Eric has done the III and I’m sure he’ll post pics for you about it. Or, do a search on Marder here on the forum and look for his post when he finished it. (It’s been a while, so it will be way down on the list.) He did an unbelievable job on it.

The Tamiya Marder II is an old kit (I have one of those, too), and not anywhere near the standards of the newer ones. DML has just released the 2nd of their Hummel series. The first was the Initial Production, the 2nd was the Early Production. I hope there are more to come as I’m a fan of SPG’s, too. Be warned, though, that DML kits have independent link tracks, which add a lot to your build time. They are daunting if you are a relatively new builder.

Good luck with them. Let us know how we can assist you.

hey Striker, I built the DML Hummel. Heres some pics. http://timsloan.fotopic.net/show_collection.php?id=79545
Though I did use some aftermarket stuff, resin interior, p/e , and Frui tracks, the kit itself was still great. The interior that it does come with is still quite detailed. I dont recall having any fit problems or anything like that. I certainly suggest this kit to anyone though. Like Bill stated though, it does have the link to link tracks…[banghead]

Wow! Monster, can I send you my figs for painting??? What a great job! My tongue is out and dragging on the floor! SUPER!!

The Tamiya Marder II is one of the older kits as mentioned above. It still builds up to be a nice display piece, and was a lot of fun to build. Basically you get to detail a nice gun (upper) and a panzer 2 (lower). I have just completed my Marder 2 and will be posting pics of it soon. I had a few teaser pics in the diorama forum while I was ironing out some final details. The Tamiya Marder II has one-piece tracks, but you can upgrade a kit to have individual links if you wish.

good luck with the kit you choose

Nice Hummel Monsterarmor. Bill was right about the figures. Very cool.
