Not armor, but I just snagged a 1/48 Hasegawa Fw190A-8 for $16, versus the usual $44 or whatever it goes for. Hell of a time of year to find some great deals…

I don’t know whether to curse you or thank you! But seriously, thanks for the heads up, some great prices.

OMG those are some great prices !!

What would you guys say is the best deal there?

I ordered 4 kits and they’ve send me an email that they’ve shiped. Im had gotten though with Christmas shopping this past weekend and wasn’t excepting to spend mopre money but the prices were too good to pass up. Oh well.

lol, I can’t believe that I’m looking at the whole sale, and I can’t think of a single thing that I actually WANT to buy. Go figure.

A have a few and it’s a pretty darn good sale. Problem is my stash. Too many at my pace. I also learned that I can beat even these prices at contests or sometimes ebay, that is, price with shipping. Excellent deal for multi- purchases and still a very good deal.

The Sprue brothers have gotten a good amount of my cash in the last year. Their category of “Super Specials” or “Bargain Bin” (not the same: bin has more after-market stuff) always have decent prices - there’s nothing really exceptional here now. What is special is their “daily” holiday special that you can see if you click their home page before going into the store proper. They’ve been offering two kits a day at heavy discount. I missed out on a Dragon early Sherman DV for $19.95 and maybe should have bought it. They had a Hasegawa 48 scale FW190 A8 for $15. These specials change daily and are worth a check. I’ve resisted because my stash is bordering on silly now.

For everyday prices Scalehobbyist.com beats everybody. They don’t have Sprue’s selection of paints and after market stuff. A favorite site of mine is White Ensign. Yanks don’t have to pay the EU’s VAT so their prices are actually pretty good and shipping is free if the order is light enough. Yesterday I was picking up some PE railings and had them throw in a 700 scale Tamiya Scharnhorst for $15. It’s an old kit, but I hear it’s held up well, and I’m not interested in Dragon’s 350 scale for $120 and boasting 1200 parts. I need Scharnhorst because I earlier bought an Airfix HMS Belfast - I like to pair enemy weapons and Belfast headed the cruiser detachment that helped demolish Scharnhorst at North Cape. Guess I really got my soft spot for White Ensign because they had a Tamiya USS Enterpirse (CV-6: not the gaudy modern rendition.) It’s only 700 scale (that one I would have bought at 350) but it was there are no kits of Enterprise available in the US except for Revell’s 1200 toy. Enterprise was the most distinguished single ship in naval history and there are no models of it in the US: figure. Rule Britannia.
