HUEY question

cuz “I gotz ta know”

When did Seats and bench material go from RED to OD?:

I see some Huey’s with red ( wich I assume is factory or just earlier used color? ) and others with OD or drk grey and if I remember correctly the Piolot/co pilots seats in Huey’s and cobras AH-1’s were a ( wire mesh? ) material for cooler venting in hot areas…like Nam.

am I even close?

My Wife and Kidz come home tomorrow so that means PICS!!!..and other things…he he[:p]…HEAY! I feel like singing!..

The pilots/ copilots seats were a cloth mesh material . I never saw any of
the red jump or troop seats.
fuzzy

the pilot and co pilot seats are a black mesh the seats are also armor plated. the jump seat and crew seats are od green and battleship grey as in the color of the crew compartment. but on some civil hueys they are red. fire service for example.

My ears are still ringing[:D][:D] - but I understand the sentiment

I crew hueys as we speak. The pilots seats are currently made black mesh, however we have several that are OD green. We even have some with black bottums and green backs. I have seen red front seats in a VIP bird in the late 80s but that was the last time. Ch47s still have red crew seats though. The hueys rear seating is made with OD nylon webbing instead of the mesh.

Thanks!

A Huey pilot I know who flew C and D’s for the 173rd 1966-68 said that those birds were likle the B-17’s of Nam…took a hell of alot and always got him home or on the ground…that is.

One hell of a HELO!

I will have some pics of my 1/24 scale UH1-C interior this sat!
