How's this OD

This is a follow-up from my earlier OD post. Here’s the color I just laid on my 8" howitzer (see the Towed Gun group build for more on this):

Yeah, I know, the barrel looks droopy. Why, God? Why does it look droopy in this picture?

Anyway, how’s the hue? Any suggestions, or is it ready to be washed and weathered?

Looks like good OD to me!

Nice build too.

Maybe it’s an optical illusion with the table edge the way it is in the background. Only thing I can figure. Nice job on the od! Lookin’ good Larry!

Colour looks perfect. Go for it!

Thanks guys, I was just thinking about possibly shooting a lighter coat of OD over the kit, with more yellow green added to the OD than the last shoot. Maybe I’ll leave it as-is. Easier that way!

OOOOOO looks great

OD looks great…The droopiness is most likely from the lens. The closer you get in distance to an object (measured from the lens) the more the lens has to ‘fisheye’ to focus. That bends the sides in or out somewhat. You most likely would never notice this on someones face or similiar subject, but on a razor sharp line of a barrel like that it becomes evident.
Some of the best effects shots use a 10mm lens where there’s no focal length, everything is in focus, whether it’s an inch in front or a mile away. it’s great for miniatures, you can have a person moving say, thirty feet behind a model and it’ll look like they are right next to it.

I think if you save the light OD for drybrushing, it will look perfect.

The carpet looks good to me. Can’t comment on the color…really attractive.

Oh you mean the gun? LOL.

Just kidding, Larry. As I mentioned in the Towed Gun GB, great job!

Ah, that explains it. Thanks.

Dwight, some day I’m going to roll the rug up and ship it to you. Wait, it’s my wife’s. Maybe I’ll send you the gun instead …

LOL …you took the words right out of my mouth Dwight. Looks like OD to me build is great as well.

looks good.
