Hows the Hobby Craft Humvee Liberator?

The 1/35 one.I want to build a humvee,but dont want to spend a whole lot of money on one.Anyone ever built the kit?

It is the Lee HMMWV kit, one of the worst ones on the market

Agree with Rob, stay away, it is pretty much junk. For a descent HMMWV at a cheap price, go with one of the Academy ones. They were the best on the market till Tamiya’s new ones came out. They are very good kits.

Yeah, I started building it. Pretty crappy and it needed a LOT of work to make it anywhere reasonable. It eventually got scrapped. Go for the Tamiya, they’re much more conducive to maintaining one’s sanity.

I got it a while ago, started it but never finished. Now, I have another one (this time by Italeri) and I’m using the top from the HobbyCraft one since I busted my other one. It’s a pretty bad kit. It does have some 50 gal drums in there, though, which could come in handy sometime.

While on the topic of HMMWV 's , opinions on the Italeri , and ESCI kits ? . The tires on both kits need to be replaced . But I like the Italeri kit better.

Italeri one is better. Esci’s front end and hood are off in dimensions and shape.

They are not really that bad of kits, and are easy to assemble. They come out looking like a HMMWV when done.
