Howdy Y'all

What a wonderful place to chat about models!
My name is Ming, a chinese working in US [:D]
spent 6 years in Austin TX for my Ph.D
moved to bay-area california last year (and still miss Austin badly [:)])
I have built some tiny 1/144 scale before and finally switched to 1/72, still feel I have a lot to learn in this hobby
And this airfix 1/72 Ja-35 was started in Texas and finished in CA after thousand plus miles trip
Happy thanksgiving to Y’all.

Hi, Ming!
Welcome to FSM.
That’s a very nice Saab you’ve got there!

Nice looking wingy thingy, I for one wouldn’t know a Saab from a 747. But it certainly looks good whatever it is ! [;)][;)]

Enjoy the forums !!!

Hey, great work on that Draken! i think it looks way cooler than the vigen and its distinctive canard wings. do you own an airbrush? how did you get those camo lines real clean?!? [:)] Oh, and 1/72nd is the way to go!(never mind all those treaded mud-moving bathtubs… sorry shermie. [:D])

Welcome to the family! Your plane reminds me of a Ja-37 I built years ago. I think it is time to build another! Now, where was that kit…

just had some turkey at friend’s place. what a feast![:D]
thanks y’all for your nice words.
it is a draken, first model after I bought my airbrush, which is a great thing to have and actually doesn’t cost a whole lot (I spent 150 for a compressor and a dual action brush). but I still have problem with camo line: sometime leaks because lousy masking and still can’t work out those nicely blend line…[V]
anyway, a lot to learn and will be a lot of fun also
and I will see you guys around

Welcome to the forums, Ming!

Welcome, Ming. My oldest son is an Army Captain and just finished his assignment at Ft. Hood. He loved Austin, especially Sixth St. With at least two colleges nearby full of co-eds, he had a target-rich environment!
